Sakkara - with pyramids older
than the ones in Ghisa. The step pyramid of Sakkara is considered as the precursor of the
pyramids as we know them today. The step pyramid is located in a complex with a well preserved
entrance and several pavilions.
Memphis - the ancient capital
of Egypt. Left over of the old splendour are only some works of art, including two statues
of Ramses II, made of limestone, and a sphinx, made of calcite.
